Thursday, December 31, 2009

It's easy to overlook some of the hidden in-camera features when you're reading spec sheets on the hardware. Senior Editor Tim Moynihan takes a look at four new cameras: Olympus' SP-590UZ, Sony's Cybershot DSC-HX1, Canon's Powershot SX200 IS, and FujiFilm's FinePix F200EXR. Your Next Travel Camera - Make it a Canon PowerShot SX20 IS

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The Canon PowerShot SX20 IS is the newest and possibly best vacation camera in the Canon stable. It is equipped with many of the same features as many of its bigger brothers.

Check out the basics:

12.1 megapixel resolution
20x wide angle optical zoom (28-560mm equivalent)
Image stabilizer to reduce camera shake
2.5" LCD with vari-angle (articulates to multiple positions)
DIGIC 4 Image Processor - Canon's newest processor
Smart Auto intelligently selects from 22 possible shooting situations
720p HD video with stereo sound and playback to your HDTV
When you consider all the shooting situations you will be faced with while traveling, you will be glad you have selected a digital compact that can handle them all. The versatility of this unit is amazing. You can take wide angle landscape photos, then quickly zoom in to capture a close-up without having to change a thing. Then, if the situation warrants, switch to video mode.

The camera will work on totally automatic if you wish because of the Smart Auto technology with 22 pre-designed settings that cover just about any shooting situation you can imagine. But it you want more control, you can switch to Aperture or Shutter Priority.

One of the handy features is the articulating LCD screen. If you are stuck in the middle of a crowd at a sporting event or a concert, you can lift the camera above the crowd and still see the LCD screen to compose your photo.

When all else has been compared, the final point has to be image quality. There is no feature that can justify poor image quality, and this digital compact produces high quality images that can be printed as regular snapshots or wall sized posters without any problem.

Digital Camera Comparison Checklist

Image : http://www.flickr.com

When you start looking for a digital camera, you want to use the digital camera comparison checklist for each camera. The first thing on your checklist should be model of camera and the price. Then you should note the megapixels, optical zoom and digital zoom. Another thing you need to know is what the internal memory is without the memory card. The next thing you should find out is the type of memory card that is used in the digital camera. You will also need to know if the camera has video capabilities and if it does, does it include sound.

Your digital camera comparison checklist needs to include the size of the viewing screen and the image format for video and images. Next, you should find out the focusing range and if manual focusing is included. Always check for the flash settings and whether the camera has red eye reduction. A few other things to consider are, does the camera has a self-timer, manual flash control and if it has continuous shooting and if so, how many frames per second. The checklist should include a spot for recycling time and the shooting modes available as well as the photo affects.

Is the camera comfortable for you to hold? This is an important item to have on your digital camera comparison checklist. A few others things to check is if the camera has a manufacturers warranty, what are the system requirements, what software is included and what type of battery is used. Is it a standard battery or a rechargeable? Once you have all this information for the cameras you are considering, you should be able to choose the right camera. It is always better to find out all this information before you buy a camera. Comparison-shopping is the only way to buy a digital camera.

Canon Powershot S3 IS Review

Tuesday, December 29, 2009

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The main attraction of the Canon Powershot S3 IS is its 12x optical zoom lens. This places the camera fairly and squarely in the super zoom category. I would say this is a camera for someone who enjoys photography and who will use a camera on a regular basis, but cannot afford a Digital SLR or is not committed enough to spend out for one. It has six megapixels.

For any super zoom digital camera hand shake can cause problems. This is especially true in lower light when the zoom lens is being used to its full extent. The Powershot S3 IS can help in this situation owing to built in optical image stabilisation.

In terms of features the Powershot S3 IS is one of the most advanced models below the level of Digital SLR. Many of the features it offers can be found in SLR models. Key features include fully manual exposure settings as well as aperture priority and shutter priority. These are essential to anyone who likes to take control over how the final image will look. With these features available the Powershot S3 IS could also be considered a good starting point for someone who is looking to learn how a camera works and to take up photography as a hobby.

Other advanced features include three metering modes (Evaluative, Centre-weighted average, Spot (centre or linked to focusing frame)), exposure compensation (+/- 2 EV in 1/3 stop increments), bracketing (1/3 - 2 EV in 1/3 stop increments) and ISO equivalents of Auto, High ISO Auto, 80, 100, 200, 400 and 800.
To help get colours right there are also a variety of white balance settings available. These are Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Tungsten, Fluorescent, Fluorescent H, Flash and Custom.

You also have a number of options when it comes to shooting movies. These include being able to shoot TV quality movies and also time lapse movies. Time lapse movies are where the camera takes a picture at set intervals. Typical uses are to show a flower gradually opening or plotting the movement of clouds across the sky. There is also a movie mode that lets you shoot a short burst of movie and play it back in slow motion. These movies are often used in analysis. Tennis serves and golf swings seem to be popular subject for this.

In terms of image quality I was very impressed by the Powershot S3 IS. The images were crystal clear as the sharpness of each image really caught my eye. I was also able to take a great macro shot with the camera. As with other super zoom cameras the problem of purple fringing does pop up. This is where a thin purple line is added to the edges of light objects when they are caught by a bright light such as the sun.

I found the camera copes well with shots taken indoors in poor light too. The flash unit is powerful and the camera has a good focusing mechanism as well. You can also adjust the level of the flash to suit the situation. An external flash unit can be bought separately from Canon to further boost performance when necessary.

To get the most from this camera you will need to set aside time to go through the manual and take the camera out to experiment with it. Any effort put in is likely to be well rewarded.

The Powershot S3 IS is one of the more expensive super zoom digital cameras on the market. That said I still think this camera manages to offer good value for money. I have reviewed almost all the super zoom digital cameras available and the Powershot S3 IS is the best one available.

Where to Get SLR Camera Repair Services

Image : http://www.flickr.com

If your expensive and latest-technology digital SLR camera gets broken, the obvious and first thing to do is to contact the manufacturer and bring the camera to the nearest branch. For example, if your Canon EOS gets broken and you're residing in the US, you can send your camera to Canon USA. The phone numbers and other contact details for repair facility and services are usually found on company websites so getting contact information shouldn't be that hard.

If you live in a far-flung place in a third world country with no known nearby offices of camera companies, you can still FedEx your camera to a repair center. Just make sure you include your credit card number so they can charge you for their services. Another option would be to send it directly to the importing company.

If you're into vintage cameras and you have a 35mm camera and wouldn't mind spending 200-300 bucks for repair services, you can send the camera back to Pentax or Nikon or any trusted camera manufacturer. Know, however, that there some manufacturers who don't want to bother with models that are over 20 years old. These guys will simply tell you that there are no longer any parts available for your vintage camera model. If this is the case, you should go to specialized camera shops that are willing to revive your camera from scratch or improvise parts to make it work. I recommend the Professional Camera Repair shop located in New York City.

For those who own a Hasselblad, I recommend you get in touch with Gil Ghitelman and consider sending your camera to him. He's the Hasselblad go-to person in my book because he hires his own Hasselblad repair person.

If you live in New England, you've probably heard of Steve Grimes - the only camera legend living in the area. He can help you out with all sorts of large format issues and problems with customize machining. He also does lens mounting, large format shutter repairs, etc. You can check out his website at skgrimes.com and contact him through 401-762-0857. I can't run down all recommendable repair shops or go-to persons in every state, so your best bet would be to ask around and do your own research on where you can get quality SLR camera repair services in your state. If all else fails and you feel that your camera is beyond repair, there's no other choice but to get a new one.

Digital Camera Canon Reviews - Find Actual User Reviews

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Are you interested in buying a digital camera? Maybe you've red the product description from the company and you are a little impressed. You might have also read the cameras specifications and found out that it has a ten times optical zoom, 12.1 mega pixels, and a DIGIC processor. This is all great, but what you really want to know, is if the camera is any good or not. There are only two ways that you can do this. You can buy the camera and try it out for yourself. Or you can read digital camera Canon Reviews.

Reading digital camera Canon reviews is the easiest way to find out if a camera is any good. You want to make sure that you read these reviews from a reputable source. Reading reviews off of the Canon website may not be the greatest idea. These reviews might come from actual users, but they also might be a little biased. Canon is not a company that needs to scam you into your purchase, but they may be a little biased on their site and delete any negative reviews.

Your best chance to finding honest digital camera Canon reviews is by reading on a site that has no specific stake in Canon. Stores that sell many different brands of photography equipment usually have honest reviews. People who like a product, or dislike a product, will go on to the internet to post about their experience with the product. This is a great way to find out more than just the specifications. You'll be able to find out things that are not exactly technical. Things like, it feels slimey, or, it required no set up. Reading digital camera Canon reviews can give you a god feel for a product without actually feeling it.

Another great place to read reviews from is on technology websites. There are many sites that are specifically designed to review the latest trends in technology. Try to find a site that has reviewed your product. They might even have a video of them using the product. These reviews are typically much more in depth, and might sway toward the technical side. This is good -- they are more useful that way!

If you really want to know if a product is good or not, you have to try it for yourself. But once you do, make sure you share your experience and write a review.

Nikon D90 DX 12MP Digital SLR Camera

Saturday, December 26, 2009

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Nikon has been one of the undisputed leaders in the world of photography since its establishment in 1917. The Nikon D90 DX 12.3MP digital SLR camera is the culmination of years of experience and technological development.

With Canon, these two Japanese brands lead the world in the manufacture of cameras. This honest review shows how a quality conscious company has produced such a high spec camera with a wealth of user friendly features.

The Nikon D90 DX 12.3MP digital SLR camera has a solid design and produces stunning image quality. All digital cameras have at their heart, an image sensor which gathers light coming through the lens. Nikon has developed a wide variety of excellent image sensors including the DX-format CMOS sensor. The DX format is more suitable for photographers who require a combination of mobility as well as operability and image quality. The image resolution of this camera is 12.3MP which is more than enough for most photographic requirements.

The 3-inch 920,000-dot LCD colour monitor provides a very accurate review of the image so you can achieve amazingly accurate results. A 170-degree wide viewing angle makes it simple to confirm focus when taking a shot or during Live View. When in HD D-Movie mode, the Nikon D90 DX 12.3MP SLR digital camera can record, cinematic-quality movies with sound, at a fantastic 24 frames per second. To compensate for image blur from camera shake or shooting from a moving car, the D90 also has a vibration reduction system, so no worries if you have shaky hands.

The well positioned buttons allow easy access to certain features without having to go through the menu configuration. Editing of shots can be made on the camera itself such as red-eye correction, inclination of image, distortion caused by lens aberration, fisheye effect and several filter effects.

Nikons image processing engine reproduces superb colour in the digital camera. It can record then store images at super high speed in an uncompressed TIFF format or a compressed JPEG format. It's as if your camera has its own mini developer within!

An efficient energy-saving rechargeable Li-ion battery allows approximately 850 images on a single charge. Enough time for most semi-professional or amateur photographers.

The Nikon Capture software is full of features, but one main one is that it can correct white balance on an image, via a PC, so photographers don't have to be concerned about this while shooting. This is an added advantage.

There is a versatile range of digital cameras from Nikon with the ability to meet the demands of needs and applications. The Nikon D90 DX 12.3MP Digital SLR Camera is ergonomically designed just weighing 620 grams, and offers so many excellent features for any standard of photographer, it is a camera to be reckoned with.

Canon G9 Camera

Friday, December 25, 2009

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Our love of canon g9 camera seems to be because the results are instant as film is no longer required to be processed. With numerous functions they do not need the complicated mechanical components of a standard film camera. The storage used is similar to other computer based products so they are compatible with may other types of media we use to view images. Captured images are stored as bytes or binary information,

Just like conventional cameras, this type is furnished with a series of lenses that focus the light and creates the image that you want to capture. Instead of film the canon g9 camera captures the light with the aid of a system which records the light rays digitally. one is more expensive than the other and called a CCD or charge coupled device. Less expensive cameras us a complementary metal oxide semi-conductor or CMS device which does the same work of capturing an image and although some believe it could replace the CCD, this is not likely.

because CMOS sensors are less expensive and are easier to manufacture than CCD sensors. The canon g9 camera converts the light it receives like millions of minute solar cells and both the CCD and CMOS end up storing an image but just using a different method to do it. There is no need to feel confused by the range and functions these cameras have if you are armed with a few basic facts which are provided in this article. Image quality is important or it will be waste of time taking them so look for the highest megapixel model within your price range, with the prices continually dropping, high resolution cameras are now more affordable.

Unless your budget just won't stretch that far, don't buy a digital camera with only a digital zoom or you will find pictures that aren't very clear when you print them, perhaps you can remember how grainy and blurred images become when you used your camcorder's digital zoom function? Even a camera with a three times optical zoom is worth having. Rechargeable batteries can be charged up to a thousand times and save money, do you need any other advice for why they are best? canon g9 camera models come equipped with some sophisticated software that can create interesting shots, just like some of these here:

Sepia shotsTime lapse (i.e. one shot every 5 minutes for example)

Negative image

Most models these days can accept a storage card to accept more images because high megapixel models use up a great deal of memory. Although larger storage cards have plummeted in price, a 1GB card should be enough for most peoples needs,

Many people fall in love with a canon g9 camera but don't ever consider how easy it will be to carry around with them so try not to make this mistake. Why carry around something that is going to make you neck ache when it is not necessary, There has only been room for a few basic hints and tips here but they should help with your choice of camera. The canon g9 camera has reinvented photography.

The Best SLR Digital Cameras For Under $1000

Wednesday, December 23, 2009

Image : http://www.flickr.com

So, you've decided to make the brave leap into the realm of digital SLR photography. You're probably one of the thousands of digital photography enthusiasts who have been using simple point-and-shoot cameras for years. One of the reasons people are so reluctant to move into the world of digital SLR photography, is an aversion to spending a lot of money for a camera. Well, if that's the case with you then you should be pleasantly surprised to find that you don't have to spend a lot of money to get a good digital SLR camera these days.

As with all things digital, digital cameras have rapidly dropped in price over the last few years. With that means basically is that you can get a camera today with SLR technology that's probably as inexpensive as you would have paid for simple point-and-shoot digital just a few years ago. One of the first digital cameras I purchased, going back every five or six years now was nothing more than a simple point-and-shoot Canon, but ended up costing me close to $1000. When I see what I can get today for thousand dollars in digital SLR cameras, it's ridiculous.

Two of the better brands take a look at when you're considering a digital SLR camera, would be Canon and Nikon. The Canon Digital rebel line of cameras has been one of the most popular for entry-level SLR enthusiasts in the past few years. It started with the XT, then the XTi, followed by the Xsi, the XS, and now the T1i. these cameras can generally be had for between 600 and $1100.

Nikon also makes a few good SLR cameras. If you're looking to stay in the sub $100 price range, and the D40 and the D60 from Nikon would be good cameras look at.

SLR Digital Cameras - Why Have A SLR Digital Camera

Image : http://www.flickr.com

In the modern day of point and shoot digital cameras, it has to be queried as to whether there is any place for the SLR digital camera any more. Well for the fans of SLR rest assured as SLR cameras are still being made by companies such as Canon, Minolta and Olympus to name but a few. As you are already probably aware SLR cameras are bigger but have more options, and for this reason SLR cameras tend to be more expensive than point and click ones. But what exactly is an SLR camera

SLR stands for single-lens reflex. This means that the composition and metering as well as the actual film exposure are being done through a single lens. Another way that these types of camera are known is TTL (through-the-lens). As cameras go, SLR has been the favoured type used by professional photographers for decades. The reason for this is that SLR cameras offer a direct view between your eye and the target of your pictures, which ensures a photo reflecting your vision. One thing that you do have to be wary of though is that, unlike the old fashioned more robust film versions, digital SLR cameras are quite sensitive and easily broken.. The reason for this is because there are a lot more electronic components to a digital SLR camera than there were on film cameras, and once these are damaged, you probably will need to get a replacement, although repairs may be possible. But do not let that deter you from buying one, as if you look after it properly then the vast majority of digital SLR cameras sold work perfectly well for a long time, and give you good quality images for years to come.

One of the qualities and even an advantage of using a digital SLR camera, is that it is generally easier and faster to shoot and it tends to be more flexible than a normal camera. This is because it generally allows you to be able to change your lens as a feature. And quite often with digital SLR you will get an Auto focus feature. This feature enables automatic focusing and will help to give you superb image quality even in situations with low light availability . If you really push the boat out and invest in a really professional digital SLR then you will find that these use the best sensors the camera manufacturer can produce, resulting in exceptionally clear, vibrant images. But even if you just get a standard camera, you will find that the lenses made for SLR cameras are generally of a higher quality than those found in most point and shoot cameras, so you are always going to get a better final image.

Canon Sx200 Power Shot - Putting a Zoom in Every Move

Tuesday, December 22, 2009

Image : http://www.flickr.com

When looking for a great bring along digital camera most times you just know you have to give up some functionality. Not so with the Canon SX200 Power Shoot. Continue reading and I will not only uncover this surprise function but highlight all the many great features provided on this economically priced must have digital camera.

One of the best parts of this fun camera is that the 12x zoom is built into its portability. Imagine being out and about and seeing that perfect scape shot and wanting to zoom in and being able to on a whim. You no longer need to have 'the bag' full of photo accessories just in case the perfect moment arises. No longer will you get a small speck in the center of your picture attempting to capture your child out on the soccer field. Also fun is the 16:9 aspect ratio along with the standard 4:3 ratio.

The SX200, which has been around a few months, represents the new stylistic direction of Canon's Power Shot models. It seems to have been made of brushed metal with chrome accents offering a chic two-tone appearance. The option of color in the case also classes up this new Power Shot. One drawback might be the pop-up flash, which extends automatically when the camera powers on. This aside I am sure you will love the feel in your hands and the feel that comes over you with the ability to take control as much as you want and for as long as you want.

This mild criticism aside, I feel that Canon deserves our kudos for dressing up its premium compact. The Canon SX200 Power Shot is a nice looking camera with construction and features that suit its price class. It becomes a nice step up for those novices looking to upgrade.

The optical zoom is smooth and sharp and has long zoom range for a relatively small camera. Image quality is excellent with very low distortion. For those with an adventure for things in motion the Canon SX200 Power Shot tracks faces with ease and provides many functions that will allow even the novice ultimate creativity.

The Canon SX200 offers focal lengths ranging from 28mm wide angle to 336mm telephoto and offers true optical image stabilization which is a must on zoom range. The SX200 also was built with some thoughts of its own. The DIGIC 4 image processor handles post-processing for the 12.1 megapixel gem. If you are looking for a digital camera to carry in your pocket this is perfect for let's say a coat pocket, a little too large for a shirt pocket. But considering the lens that is built in it is worth the extra girth that has to be accommodated.

To those of you that are loyal Canon users the functions are similarly located to other fine Canon digital cameras. The Canon SX200 Power Shot has video mode for those that love to see it all again in action. As an experienced user the SX200 offers independent control of both aperture and shutter. So whether you like the 'everything' automatic option or the self-control option this great little camera is for you.

Should You Ever Buy A Canon PowerShot SD800IS Digital Elph Camera?

Image : http://www.flickr.com

What would you do with a camera that failed to live up to your expectations? Try returning it? Sell it on Ebay? Drop if off the Golden Gate Bridge? How about, get the facts you need to make the right buying decision in the first place. Sounds good to me. The Canon PowerShot SD800IS Digital Elph is one of the best selling point and shoot cameras available. But, is it the right camera for you? I'm going to skip all the strong selling features of the SD8000IS Elph, and go straight to what I think are the problems . . . and let you decide.

Firstly, lets start with face recognition focusing. The SD800IS as well as a number of Canons are supposed to recognize peoples faces, and focus on the faces for the best picture. It's a great idea in theory, but not so good in practice with this PowerShot. When using the face recognition mode, items around, behind, and near the faces in the photographs are in focus, but quite often the face is not. Face recognition is an idea whose time has come, but Canon needs to do a little more work to get it right.

Chromatic aberration has been a problem in a number of the Canon point and shoots, including the predecessor to the SD800IS, the SD700. Canon obviously doesn't see it as a problem, since it's still visible in the SD800IS. Sometimes called "color fringing", chromatic aberration is a cameras inability to focus two or more different colors on the same focal plane. Mostly, it shows up on wide angle photographs, and can look like a fringe of color around an object that shouldn't be there.

Image noise with this PowerShot is a problem with any photos taken at ISO 400 or higher. If you really want to push it, you could take pictures at ISO 800, as long as you don't plan on developing any pictures greater than 4x6 or 5x7. Using after the fact software to reduce image noise is a possibility, if you don't mind the loss of crispness in your images due to the software's softening algorithms.

It's not a completely damning list of problems for the SD800IS, but things you should be aware of. Things that are better to know up front before buying. Here's just a few more problems to consider.

- no freedom to tinker with the exposure

- red eye artifacts appears quite frequently

- short battery life

- MPEG support for movies has been excluded

- luminance histogram is restricted to playback mode only

Canon Digital Rebel - Which One to Choose - XSi, T1i or X1i

Monday, December 21, 2009

Image : http://www.flickr.com

There is, however, a kind of progression in the Rebel numbers. The first Canon Rebel was the 300D, then came the 350D, 400D, 450D, 1000D, and finally the 500D. No clue how a camera with the number 1000D got in there. It has not been hugely popular, so maybe the inconsistent number has something to do with that. The most popular of the Canon Rebels are the XSi and the T1i. And both are awesome pieces of photographic equipment.

The Rebel series has historically been popular among two groups of people.

Group 1 - new DSLR buyers. That is, those folks who are moving from a point and shoot camera to their very first DSLR camera.

Group 2 - current Rebel owners. It is amazing to see how many Rebel owners buy the newest Canon Rebel Release. Sometimes they will skip one, but there is a group of folks who are loyal to the Rebel line.

And for good reason. The Canon Rebel has been excellent at every release. Canon has consistently raised their technology standards with each new camera, and buyers have been extremely happy with their purchases. That goes a long way toward getting Canon the reputation that sells cameras and makes them one of the two top DSLR manufacturers, the other being Nikon.

OK, so what about the Canon Rebel XSi vs the Canon Rebel T1i? As already mentioned, both are great cameras that are well liked by those who have purchased them. In a comparison of image quality, it would be difficult for the average person to see any differences in the prints from the two cameras side by side. You may even need some coaching to find any at all. Thus, both are capable of almost identical image quality. The Canon T1i will produce a slightly larger image because it has almost 3 megapixels more capacity than the XSi, but at the 12-15 megapixel size, this becomes a non-issue (unless you are a megapixel prude).

Some other improvements on the Canon Rebel T1i include:

Extended ISO range up to ISO 12800
HD video capability
New 3.0 inch 920K pixels screen
Creative Auto
Face Detection in Live View
Larger buffer in continuous shooting
Digic 4 style menu design
Of those differences, the ones that might be of most note to a first time DSLR buyer are:

HD video capability - if you are moving up from a compact digital camera, you will be used to having video capability. But be aware that this camera is not a camcorder. While it has excellent video recording, there are two things that you need to know. First, there is no stereo sound or mic input. Second, the length of recording is quite a bit shorter than a dedicated camcorder.
3" LCD with 920K pixel resolution. This is quite a big improvement in the ability to see the screen in bright light. The XSi output is only 230K pixels.
Creative Auto - this set of features lets the photographer tell the camera what conditions he is shooting in and what he wants the output to be. Basically, Canon says that Creative Auto will allow you to learn DSLR photography while still getting excellent photos during the learning process.
Face Detection in Live View - this is a new feature to many DSLRs which is quite common in point and shoot cameras. It can be an added bonus if you are used to having it.I think that both cameras would be a fantastic fit for anyone except the extreme amateur or the professional photographer.
Every camera in the Digital Rebel series has given its owners fantastic images. Mine certainly did. And these two cameras are no different. Both are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Given the above information, why wouldn't you just go get a Canon Rebel T1i? The answer is COST. The Rebel XSi is about $150 less than its younger sibling. So if you think the improvements are enough for you to shell out another $150, then the Canon Rebel T1i is the right choice. If those features are not as important to you as the ability to take great still photos and change lenses when you want to change output, then the Canon Rebel XSi is the right choice.

Sunday, December 20, 2009

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Each important event in life brings in an urge in us to live those moments again and again. Since the wheel of time can not be turned back, the only way left out is to store these memories in a material device. One such device is a digital camera. In the modern times, any important event is never complete without some family member clicking the snaps of the people present. The smiles, the hugs, the kisses are the moments that need to be frozen to eternity. Your digital camera helps you save these special moments for you. Canon Powershot A 640 camera is one such device which will only give you satisfaction for possessing it. It is a technically advanced camera without being a high end camera.

Design

Although, Canon Powershot A 640 has special ergonomic design, it is quite bulky which makes it a compulsion to keep it in a bag since it can not fit itself inside your trousers' pocket.
Controls

The operating system of Canon Powershot A 640 is quite traditional and consequently comfortable since your hands can access the buttons easily.

Key Features

Canon Powershot A 640 camera comes with a 10 megapixels CCD sensor. It has a 2.5" LCD display that facilitates good previews of images so that you get an idea of whether the images will turn out well and position the camera according to the need of the time. It has a 4x digital zoom and a 4x optical zoom. Canon Powershot A 640 camera has a standard optical viewfinder for framing shots in an old-fashioned manner. It also has primary color filters, several shooting modes and a distinct macro mode. All these come together to give excellent images. Transferring data becomes an easy job with Canon Powershot A 640 camera since it is equipped with high end technology. It is compatible with almost all personal computers.

User Friendly Aspects

What sets Canon Powershot A 640 camera apart is its 10 megapixels CCD. This is the most arresting feature of the digital camera. No matter where you stand, you can click images of anything and everything within the available distance. Its 2.5" LCD screen is also appealing since it displays crisp and clear images before they can be clicked. As a result, you click only those images that you think will produce good results. You may flip it or twist it to frame odd angled shots in a better manner.

Performance

The images offered by Canon Powershot A 640 digital camera are quite detailed, precise and high end. It is only in a low light condition that the images are not so good. But this issue can be overlooked since most other digital cameras are not good at this end.

Conclusion

Canon Powershot A 640 camera is an ideal one for those who do not intend to buy a high end digital camera. It is most suitable for beginners.

Buying a Digital SLR Camera? Follow These Tips!

Image : http://www.flickr.com

It is incredible to see the features that are available on digital SLR cameras, but it can also be a scary process to try to understand the details and reviews that you find. It is necessary to learn about the feature details and specifications to that you can choose which camera you would like to buy. Although there is a lot to learn, you can easily overcome your lack of knowledge by studying it out to learn what features you want.

As you learn about digital SLR cameras, there are a few points that you need to understand: What are megapixels and why do I need them? I have heard of digital SLR cameras, what are they? Is a digital SLR camera really more superior to a basic digital camera? Which model should I choose when I purchase my digital SLR camera?

Understanding the definition is important as you start on this exciting journey. Megapixel refers to the resolution of a given camera, it specifies how many pixels are in a given space. If you select a camera with higher megapixels, your photographs will be a higher quality and the image will be sharp and clear.

As you select how many megapixels you need, think about what the camera will be used for so that you don't overdo the pixel count. You pictures may look unnatural if you are using a camera with excess pixels, you do not need too many pixels if you will not be enlarging the photos. Find a good balance of pixels within your price range, and the read digital SLR camera reviews and select the model that fits your needs.

"SLR" is the abbreviation for "single lens reflex," a SLR camera has a small mirror located between the camera film and lens. This mirror projects the image to a focusing screen through the lens. This technology is found in all of today's high-end digital cameras which creates more control and image focusing for the photographer.

What is the difference between a digital SLR camera and a basic digital camera? The digital SLR cameras offer features that cannot be found on more basic cameras, including: ISO settings, higher megapixels, the ability to change camera lenses, and many more.

Now that you know a little more about digital SLR camera you will need to decide which model to choose, it is easy to see that digital SLR cameras are superior to basic cameras. Determine which features you would like to have and then compare digital SLR models through the reviews. By following these simple steps, you will soon have your brand new camera ready to use!

Digital Camera Deals For Busy People

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Photographers ranging from beginners to professionals can find some digital camera deals. The best deals on cameras are found online. The Internet is filled with wholesalers, manufacturers and retail stores displaying their huge selection of digital cameras. What this means is that you will have more options than you probably do locally. You could compare deals between many different cameras that you might not be able to do if you were to go to your local store. This is important when looking for the right camera with the best deal. If you take your time, you can even do a side-by-side comparison of different digital cameras online.

Since seeing is believing, finding digital camera deals online and comparing the different features, functions, software and accessories is the only way to shop. You will find cameras from some of the leading digital manufacturers that are priced right. When you find some cameras from Canon or Casio, you can compare the cameras for size, weight, functions and even the size of the viewing screen. By comparing the cameras you are interested in purchasing, you will get the best deal. The price does not matter if the camera does not have everything you need to take great pictures.

Many of the stores online have closeout specials and sales. This is the best time to look for digital camera deals. You will find that most of the sites that sell cameras also have review sections, which allows you to see what others are saying about the camera before you buy. The cameras that are sold because of closeout specials does not mean the camera is not the best. It could be that they will not be selling that particular camera anymore. It may be for different reasons, but it might be because the new models are coming out.

The Canon EOS 50D Digital SLR Camera Review

Thursday, December 17, 2009

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The Canon EOS 50D SLR Digital Camera is highly regarded by many photographers as one of the best choices for crisp, clear photos, longevity of battery life, and reduced photo noise.

Whether you have a professional photographer or a budding photo bug on your Christmas list, giving this camera as a Christmas gift is sure to make them jump for joy at your thoughtfulness and generosity!

Is this a perfect camera? No, that camera hasn't been invented yet. Is it a great camera? Absolutely!

Image Quality: This camera touts 15.1 megapixels. What does that mean? It means the images you capture have the quality to be reproduced to larger sized prints and that the color quality of your image is far superior. The higher the number of megapixels your digital camera has, the better the photo quality. This is a hugely simplified explanation, but one that anyone will understand.

Versalitity: This camera has the ability to be a point-and-shoot (auto focus and auto light meter) or a fully adjustable ISO-setting camera. Simply put, the Canon EOS 50D is as flexible as the person using it. If you're looking at this camera as a novice (beginner) photographer, you'll get fabulous photos with the point-and-shoot features, but also have the ability to experiment with lens settings and play around with the shutter speeds and focus. This is a terrific camera for the budding photographer. You can't really go into a photography class with one of those tiny little camera everyone is pointing and shooting today. You will need to have a camera that allows you to set the ISO, shutter speed, and focus or you won't learn anything at all about photography.

Noise Reduction: While the Canon EOS 50D has a noise reduction feature, the people who use higher ISO settings and longer exposure settings still find some photo noise present in their images. Very simply put, there will be some fuzzy outlines or specks of color in the image that is referred to as noise. It is only found in rare cases and extraordinary circumstances, but it is found in just about any camera; digital or film.

Ease of Use: The Canon EOS 50D has a 3.5" viewing screen on the back that allows the user to see a larger image of what they are shooting. It has advanced features that allow you to see the screen even in bright outdoor light. No more squinting to see what you're shooting. There is also an eye viewer if the circumstances call for it. It is truly up to you which view finder you use, but it is nice to have both options.

Read as many reviews as you can before purchasing any camera or electronic devise. This is a short review, but I can tell you the people I have spoken with who own this camera are thrilled with it. Some of them are dreaming of that $10K Nikon digital, but are getting great results with this camera for a fraction of the cost.

Canon PowerShot A470 Digital Camera

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The Canon PowerShot A470 Digital Camera is the perfect example of paying less for a pretty good digital camera. Great solid digital camera models are becoming less expensive each year. And most of these budget-options are offering better performance each year. The Canon PowerShot A470 Digital Camera is no exception. This camera is an ideal example of this trend. With a price tag less than $150, this camera produces surprisingly good pictures. It's not the most beautiful camera around and it doesn't even have flashy features, but you can't get a better deal for it's price.

The Canon PowerShot A470 Digital Camera comes in four different color choices: blue, gray, red and orange. While all the color options are beautiful, they still can't hide from the camera's bulky, unattractive design. It's rather large, measuring about 4 inches long and 2 inches thick and more than 1.5 inches wide. The camera weights 7.6 ounces with an SD card and two AA batteries. This makes it quite a hefty option for a budget camera. The lens and LCD screen eject from the body, giving it an uneven, awkward feel. Compared to other low-budget digital camera's, the A470 is just outright huge. On the bright side, the bulky size makes it quite easy to hold and handle. The advantage here is also that the buttons and simple controls can be used easily.

The A470 features a 38-132 mm equivalent, 3.0-5.8 lens, offering a longer than usual reach for a camera of this class. The 2.5 inch LCD provides a 115,000 screen that is the only method of framing your shots. This screen makes it a bit difficult to shoot on sunny days. The A470 lacks advanced controls, but still offers adjustable ISO, exposure controls and manual white-balance settings for some flexibility when shooting. A handful of scene preset modes are also included, along with a movie mode that can record QVGA(320X240) movies at 30 framer per second or 640x480 VGA movies at a slower 20 frames per second.

The A470 also features advanced features such as face-detection auto-focus and auto-exposure that's quite surprising to find on such an inexpensive model. Altogether, this camera features inexpensive, fast performance. The bad? The pictures are a bit noisy and the design of the camera is a bit chunky.

The bottom line: You can't beat the price of this model digital camera. You'd really have a hard time finding a camera like this for the price that's loaded with the features included here.

Digital Camera Problems That Are Easily Fixed

Tuesday, December 15, 2009

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Digital cameras make taking photos an easy experience and can result in some beautiful images. Along the way, a digital camera owner may experience a variety of problems. Thankfully, these issues are easily fixed. The following are some of the most common digital camera problems that can be easily corrected.

Digital cameras use memory cards to store the photos a digital camera takes. One of the most basic and most common problems people experience with digital cameras is when memory card is locked. To undo this lock setting, first make sure the camera is powered off. Next, remove the card from its slot and move the card's locking tab to the unlocked position. Most of these switches are easy to see since the card is so small, but if you are confused, look for a diagram of your memory card: they are available everywhere from the card's original packing to the Internet.

Another memory card related problem that is both common and fixable is when the memory card becomes full and can no longer save images. To fix this problem, you will need to transfer the images contained on the card onto a computer. You can do this buy connecting the camera to the computer with a USB cord. Once the images have been copied to the laptop and saved, you can then delete the images on the memory card. If you do not have the ability to transfer images, you can always invest in a new memory card, though this is a more expensive way to fix the problem.

Nothing is worse than turning on your camera only to see that you are not able to take an image. This is generally because the batteries in the camera are not strong enough to take and save an image. A camera may have enough power to turn on, but it takes much more power to take and save photos. To solve this, a person can replace or recharge the batteries. If this isn't an option, the individual can also use their camera's charger, though this may make it harder to take images (i.e. you can only walk around as far as the cord on your adapter allows).

Another common camera issue that is also one that is easily fixed is a slow camera. If you are trying to move from image to image or from function to function, a slow moving camera can make this incredibly frustrating. This sluggishness is generally caused by slow memory card or if you have too many images on the card or camera. To fix this issue, consider switching to a new memory card or removing some of the images from your camera. If this doesn't work, think about what your camera is trying to do: a model may act slow if it is in the middle of altering or saving an image. Thus, allow the camera to finish what it's doing before trying to move onto a new task.

Many problems that create snags in photo taking are easily fixed with enough time and patience. If you are having trouble with your camera, always look into the model's manual and software information. This first step could save you a lot of time and grief since most camera issues are easily fixed.

Why Buy A Used Digital Camera?

Saturday, December 12, 2009

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Besides the economic savings when buying a used digital camera, there are other advantages to be gained. One of the obvious benefits is the savings that can be made and, although you will not get all the latest developments in digital camera technology, most used cameras will include the essentials like auto focus, zoom and various shooting modes. And you never know you may get the camera of your dreams, which you could never afford when it first came on the market.

The market in used digital cameras is huge and growing everyday. Like most electronic products nowadays if they are found to be faulty it's usually in the early days of use. Once they get over the first few months they will normally last for years and if you are not too concerned about having all the newest features that come with the latest digital cameras, which most people don't use anyway, then you can pick up a bargain.

One of the main reasons for this is the fact that new cameras are coming on the market daily and serious and professional photographers have to have the latest and best featured camera, which in turn causes a turnaround in used cameras. As the cost of the latest cameras are more competitive than their predecessors prices of older products typically plunge as newer models are launched.

When digital cameras first came onto the market the difference between newer and older models was immense and even though the technology is still advancing, and will do for years to come, the improvements are not so great. Therefore a camera that is a couple of years old is not that far removed from today's models.

If you do decide to go down the path of buying a used digital camera, however there are some things you should look out for. You will learn a lot about the camera by giving it a close examination. Check whether there are scratches on the lens and likewise on the LCD screen, a faulty display or lens will cause problems later on. Ensure there is no corrosion in the battery compartment.

Operate the camera yourself and listen to whether it makes any noises or whirring sounds when being used. Scan for any dents or scratches on the surface of the camera indicating whether it's been dropped or misused. And probably more important is whether it has an owner's manual. Modern cameras come with many features and you will need the manual to know how to operate it to it's full potential.

There has never been a better time to pick up a top of the range digital camera at a bargain price. Cameras that were being sold for thousands of dollars a couple of years ago are now selling for hundreds. Shop around and you are bound to get the camera you want.

Where To Find Cheap Canon Digital Cameras

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Canon is one of the most popular brand of cameras out there, and for good reason. They have a range of models that sell from below $100 up to several thousand dollars. With the majority of those models below $300, and quite a few of those below $150. Of course, if your willing to go used with your digital camera purchase, then you'll spend even less money. If your looking at used, be sure you stick with a reputable dealer either online or offline.

Don't just consider the initial purchase price with your camera either. Buying a cheap Canon camera is one thing, but there's an operation cost to be considered with any digital camera. Lots of megapixels may make for sharper resolution images, but they also take up more space on your memory cards and your computer. Memory cards (SD / CF) and hard drives are not cheap. The bigger they are, the more expensive they get. Try to buy a digital camera with no more than 7 megapixels. 5 or 6 would be better.

Another thing to consider, is LCD screen size. A lot of digital cameras have 2.5 or 3 inch LCD screens. Nice for viewing, but also guaranteed to chew through batteries like crazy. If you look around a bit, you should be able to find some models with a 2 inch screen. The inexpensive Canon PowerShot A460 or S30 are still around, and both have smaller screen sizes. An alternative, would be to find a lower priced NiMH battery pack and charger. Don't buy the charger the camera shop salesman will try to up sell you on, as they're generally more expensive than then same product at a discount store.

In the spirit of saving batteries, and keeping your costs down, make sure your camera has an optical viewfinder. That way, you don't have to use the LCD screen all the time. Many LCD screens don't work well outside in bright sunlight anyway. A lot of digital cameras these days (especially the least expensive) exclude the viewfinder.

Panasonic Digital Cameras - The History Behind Their Cameras

Tuesday, December 8, 2009

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Panasonic is a world-renowned consumer electronics company today. Its digital cameras have recently entered the market. In this article, we will view the story of Panasonic and some of the latest cameras which have been launched by the company in the market.

The inception of Panasonic took place in the year 1918 on a small work table in the house of Konosuke Matsushita. At that time, Matsushita invented the two-socket light fixture. This product became a success and Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd. was established.

Panasonic is the largest manufacturer of consumer electronics in the world today. The firm produces a wide array of products which cater to several needs of consumers. Its policy of achieving hundred percent customer satisfaction and providing optimal quality goods, has led Panasonic from strength to strength. In fact, the name Panasonic is synonymous with innovation, quality, performance and ease of use.

As far as digi cameras are concerned, Panasonic has got several types of digi cameras which can cater to various audiences depending on their budget and needs. In fact, Panasonic has also entered into an alliance with German camera maker, Leica to develop still digital cameras. The reason for this alliance is the fact that Panasonic is a small player in the digital market today. This alliance will help both Leica and Panasonic to take over an estimated ten percent of the digital camera market share.

Panasonic's latest line of digi cameras consists of mainly three series. One of these is the Lumix digital camera series. The Lumix camera makes use of lenses provided by Leica. This helps in getting images which are extremely clear and bright. The Lumix is a highly advanced camera and also comes with manual control options. Its shutter interval is also less than 0.04 seconds, hence allowing the photographer to take shots quickly.

Another series of digital cameras are cheaper and smaller, known as the D-Snap digital camera series. These cameras are trendy and small. They are super-slim and come in different colors. These cameras can also record videos and play music. The D-Snap digital camera is aimed at teenagers and youngsters who are looking for something smart and trendy and which also fit into their budget.

Slowly and steadily, Panasonic is establishing a name for itself in the digi camera world. This company, which has always believed in putting the customer's needs first, is sure to make a mark in this arena as well.

The Best Digital Camera Prices Anywhere

Image : http://www.flickr.com

So, what's your budget for a digital camera? That's one of the first questions a salesman will ask, when they catch you skulking around their shop trying to inconspicuously check out their lineup of digital cameras. It's a hard question for many consumers to answer, when you've never priced digital cameras before. Digital camera prices vary widely, depending primarily on quality and functionality.

Asking what your want your camera to do for you and how you plan to use it would be a far better question to consider before starting your digital camera search. Since digitals range in price these days from $100 to around $5000, price is really to vague a consideration to think about in the beginning. For the sake of discussion, though we could break digitals down by price category. This should at least give you a baseline to start from.

For under $200 there are some pretty nice digital cameras that would suit the purposes of the average photographer. Someone in this category is looking to have a good camera to take on vacation, to the cousins wedding, and to catch junior blowing out the birthday candles. The Canon PowerShot A570IS is a good choice here. Going for under $150, it comes with some advanced features like face recognition and image stabilization. For $20 or $30 dollars more, you could get the more compact Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital Elph. Less image quality, but substantially smaller and portable.

Anything in the $200 to $500 price range will get you much the same camera as the previously mentioned cameras, with a few improved features. Typically higher resolution LCD screens, better lenses, higher zoom factors, more manual control, and overall better image quality. Don't worry about megapixels, as the image quality of any camera over 5MP will be all but indistinguishable to the average photographer.

In the $500 to $1000 your looking at a cornucopia of entry digital level digital SLR cameras. Models like the Canon XTi Digital Rebel, and the Nikon D40 are good examples. These cameras are capable of taking some truly amazing photos. Plenty of manual control tweaking for the semi serious professional further enhance your picture taking options here. Don't forget to leave money in the budget for different lens choices as well.

Nikon SLR Digital Camera Pros & Cons

Monday, December 7, 2009

Image : http://www.flickr.com

I knew that i needed a new camera when I reached the point of couldn't getting more from the point-and-shoot Canon PowerShot devices that i have been using for six years now. I took a lot of pictures, because they're handy and portable and I always had my camera with me, but I started experiencing problems like poor performance at low-light settings and delay between shots.

Even though I like my compact Canon, for a DSLR I narrowed my choices to the Nikon D60 or the Sony A300. I eventually chose the D60 and I ordered it from Amazon. Profiting of their 30-day price match policy, I got some of my money back. Because the price of the Nikon D60 has gone down a few times and they were fast to refund the difference from what I initially paid. But keep in mind that Amazon doesn't warn you when the price changes, it's up to you to follow for 30 days if it drops.

Why I chose the Nikon over the Sony is simple: it's less heavy and compact, making it easier to carry; also, the LCD menu is intuitive and clear and, of course, because Nikon is well-respected for the fine lenses it produces, and in a DSLR it's really about which line you want to follow in purchasing lenses in the future.

Even though the camera doesn't fit in my pocket like I used to carry my point-and-shoot devices, it's still pretty comfortable to have with you. Thanks to kit lens' VR (vibration reduction) and its neat balance with the camera's compact body, the weight of the lens won't point it down.

Another great thing is that the camera is pretty efficient in low-light settings. You can even beat the flash, and in my opinion you can get better quality pictures this way. Still, the flash has a more even coverage than that of a compact camera and is also more powerful. The manual explains all you need to know about what this camera has, but you won't find a thorough guide for DSLRs.

One thing you should know about this camera is that auto-focus only works with Nikon AF-S lenses. So you'll have to manually focus when using most Nikon "prime" lenses. It also lacks live preview. You only see your picture on the LCD screen after you've pushed the button.

But I'm pleased with my decision and I warmly recommend the Nikon for anyone who wants to try a DSLR camera.

Why Buy New Digital Cameras?

Image : http://www.flickr.com

With so many opportunities for the everyday consumer to utilize online auction sites like eBay, why would anyone resort to buying brand new digital cameras at full prices? Or, any product for that matter. Well, many reasons actually. They generally have to do with trust, warranties, and appreciation for the shinier things in life. While those may be some perfectly good reasons, does that mean the people who do buy used digital cameras know something the rest of us don't?

Probably not, maybe they just look at things a little differently. Camera manufacturers are releasing new camera models at an unprecedented rate. Before the advent of digital cameras, it was harder for Canon, Sony, Kodak, Nikon or Kodak to come up enough new features to convince customers they should upgrade their cameras. So they didn't.

Today however, things have definitely changed. Digital cameras mean more megapixels, image stabilization, face recognition, software menus, LCD screens, memory cards and firmware upgrades. These are all features driven by or completely impossible without CPU's and software. Meaning, that cameras are not just cameras anymore, they're actually little miniature computers that just happen to take pictures. We all know how often computers become obsolete and upgraded. That lesson certainly hasn't been lost on the brain trust that run companies like Canon, Sony, Nikon and Kodak. OK, maybe a little lost with Kodak, but I digress.

The point I'm trying to make here, is that with the rapid fire release of new digital cameras, there is a plethora of good used digital cameras available at great prices. I have a couple old digital cameras (like my Canon PowerShot s40) sitting at home that I paid top dollar for a few years ago. Today they still work brilliantly, and can be had on eBay for a disturbingly low fraction of what I paid for mine.

What Are the Best Digital Compact Cameras?

Image : http://www.flickr.com

When people think digital cameras, they usually want something quite small, something small enough to be put in your pocket for example. For this, you are usually best off buying an ultra compact, or more commonly a compact. Ultra compact digitals are often too small, so people usually go with a compact. There are quite a few digital compact cameras which are popular sellers, and evidently some of the best performers.

The first camera on the list is the PowerShot G10 by Canon. It is the most advanced and expensive compact released by Canon currently. The camera has the benefit of offering the functionality of a DSLR, while having the size of a compact. The camera offers a staggering 14.7 megapixels, while having a 4 image processor which allows for much faster working of the camera. This also drastically improves image quality. The LCD is a typical 3 inch screen, though it has a much higher solution than regular screens. One of the best features of the camera is its zoom lens. It carries a 140mm zoom lens, which gives users a wider view. Other features include a RAW mode, optical imagine stabilizer, viewfinder, and several shooting modes. Unquestionably, the PowerShot G10 is the best digital compact in the market.

The Lumix DMC-LX3 is one of the best out there, for many reasons. The camera has a 16:9 ratio image, and a decent 10 megapixels. The camera also includes a standard 3 inch LCD screen, and some other special features including a Venus Engine IV image processor, and an extended ISO range. The camera consists of 2.5x zoom and a 24-60mm wide lens. The lens is made to work best with features such as optical image stabilizer and many manual controls. The camera was made after the famous LX2, and many say it has proven to be "the next best thing". The camera comes at a heavy price, though reviews show that it is money well spent. Panasonic calls it one of the best compact digitals they have released.

Coming at third is the Ricoh GX200, but nonetheless, just as powerful of a camera as the top two. It is a camera used more commonly by professionals, and many professionals enjoy it because of its compact size. The camera contains features that are not found on many others camera. These include a 24-72mm, 3x optical zoom lens, along with optical image stabilizer. The camera itself is 25mm thick, which is very easy for users to put in their pocket and carry around conveniently. Users have complete control over settings such a exposure, a great feature. The main features of the camera include its 12 megapixel addition, and a 2.7 inch LCD screen. Evidently, this camera as well comes with quite a heavy price of about $500 (at cheapest). Nonetheless, it is money well spent.

Digital Camera Reviews - Sony DSC N2, DSC T100 and Canon EOS 400D

Friday, December 4, 2009

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Sony Cyber-shot DSC N2

The Sony DSC N2 is a stylish digital camera with ten mega pixels and a three times optical zoom. The feature that sets the DSC N2 apart from just about all other digital cameras is its large 3" touch LCD screen. This cuts the number of dials and buttons the camera has to an absolute minimum, helping to accentuate its looks and style.

Another feature that adds to the attraction of the camera is the fact it has a manual exposure mode. This allows you to set the shutter speed and aperture you shoot at. This model is probably aimed at the more casual user who still wants the premium picture quality to boast at cocktail parties. There is some debate on whether the CPU, or ‘brain’, of the DSC is any better than the DSC N1, so that the extra megapixels may not be processed in a manner that makes the pictures any better. I would recommend trying one out in the shop before committing yourself to a purchase.

Rating: 3 out of 5

Sony DSC-T100
The DSC-T100 fits an amazing combination of high-tech features into super-slim dimensions. It has high-resolution 8.1 MP imaging, a powerful 5x optical zoom lens and a huge 3.0" Clear Photo LCD Plus screen that lets you snap and share photos easily. This means that it can zoom in closer to distant objects with better clarity than the majority of the other brands that fit into a pocket. The optical zoom is the best feature of this camera, and would be very useful for images at concerts, wildlife photography or impressive holiday snaps. The size makes it very portable and I would recommend this one over the DSC N2.

Rating: 4 out of 5

Canon EOS 400D
The Canon EOS 400D is the latest member of Canon's extensive range of SLR digital cameras. It is now over three years since Canon released their first entry-level DSLR, the 6 megapixel EOS 300D, which kick-started the whole budget DSLR boom. An entry-level camera, the new Canon 400D has a hard act to follow as it attempts to build on the success of the 300D and 350D models. The 400D closely follows the general design of the 350D, having similar compact proportions to the older model, but it adds some new features to try and remain competitive in what has become a rapidly expanding sector of the photography market. This model is more for the budget professional, perhaps as a useful backup for the main shooter. That said, you can always rely on Canon to bring a functional and competent camera, and the styling of this model would feel at home in any paparazzi’s man-bag.

Rating : 4 out of 5.

Digital Camera Reviews You Can Actually Use

Image : http://www.flickr.com

What you learn from digital camera reviews helps you select a camera that will meet your needs. The reviews will more than likely come from people who have used the camera and then share their experiences. This is great information to have before buying any camera. You can find reviews on Canon and Nikon or even Panasonic and Sony. The reviews will help you determine which camera will be the best for you.

For instance, the Canon PowerShot A670 IS review states that this 7.1 megapixel camera delivers a quality picture and has many features for a low price. The camera also has image stabilization, which helps reduce blurry pictures when your hands are not steady. This would be an ideal camera for somebody who has a problem holding the camera steady to take the picture.

Digital camera reviews might also include the Nikon Coolpix L10, which is a cheaper camera for about one hundred dollars. This camera is only 5 megapixels, but it is a decent point-and-shoot camera. This camera has no manual controls, but it does have the best-shot selection and paste priority autofocus.

By using digital camera reviews, you can find a camera the best fits your needs. You can also do comparisons when you use reviews. You can compare megapixels, functions, features and ease of use before deciding which cameras best for you. Many times the reviews will have star rating that go along with reviews. You should always read the reviews that matter how many stars are given.

You can use the digital camera reviews to compare prices and camera styling or even picture quality. It is easier to pick a camera when you have reviews from other users. The reviews also note any problems that may have occurred with the particular camera and if it is because of the user or a flaw with the camera.
